Database

    Information provided by HDIP includes the most comprehensive data base of infrastructure and health services and facilities found in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. This information has been extensively used by numerous health care providers, national and international organizations and United Nations agencies working in the area, and individual researchers and students.

     Community database

    As part of its information dissemination and sharing activities, HDIP holds an extensive database with detailed information about every community located in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Information contained in this database includes:

    • Population size
    • Number of households,
    • Refugee population
    • Names of the larger families in each community.

    This database also contains information about the status of important infrastructure components in each community like:

    • Electricity grids
    • Piped water supplies
    • Waste disposal mechanisms
    • Transportation
    • Communication facilities

    Detailed information is also available about schools and day care centers in each community. Names and details of health and other organizations operating in each community are all documented in this database together with listings of all health care services and facilities and levels of enrollment in government and other health insurance schemes.

    Clinic database

    A separate database contains detailed information about every primary health care facility that operates in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. This database contains detailed information about the:

    • Type and location of clinic
    • Type and scope of services offered by each health facility
    • Affect of the Intifada on work of the facility
    • Health personnel
    • Consultation rates, fees
    • Health insurance enrollment
    • Other vital information for the planning process.

     Hospital database

    Another database contains detailed information about every secondary health care facility that operates in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. This database contains detailed information about the:

    • Type and location of hospital
    • Affects of the Intifada on the work of the hospital
    • Services offered by the hospital
    • Health personnel
    • Consultation, medication and operation rates and fees.
    • Health insurance enrollment
    • Other vital information for the planning process

    These three data bases are continuously updated by the HDIP field work team to produce up-to-date information that is vital for planning and improvement of the Palestinian health care system
    Information about any Palestinian community or health care facility is available upon request for a nominal charge for students and researchers. These databases can be spatially displayed using our GIS system.  Information can be obtained from HDIP either in printed or in electronic form.
