This report provides basic statistics on marital characteristics of West Bank at the national level and at the type of locality level, refugee status, and the educational attainment. The report is based on data collected during the Population, Housing and Establishment Census done in 1997. The report is compromised of four chapters, the first presents the report’s objectives, the second presents concepts and definitions used in this report, the third describes the main findings and the fourth deals with data quality. The main results indicated that the percentage of married individuals among those 12 year old and above in West Bank was 52.4% for males and 55.2% for females. The singulate mean ages at marriage in West Bank were 25.9 years and 22.0 years for males and females respectively. The median age at first marriage for males in West Bank was 24 and 18 for females.
