Data is presented pertaining to North Gaza Strip from the demographic survey in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The survey was conducted in 1995 by PCBS. As is characteristic of the Gaza Strip as a whole, over 50% of the population were aged 15 years and below. The mean household size was 7.7 persons. Public sewage was connected to 80% of the households compared with 48.7% for the Gaza Strip as a whole. The total fertility rate was estimated at 7.29, a slightly lower figure than the 7.44 for the entire Gaza Strip. The infant mortality rate was estimated to be a relatively low 26 per thousand births.
