Data concerning infant mortality in UNRWA camps is re, and a persistent decline is noted in all UNRWA areas. A study of factors associated with infant death showed associations with diarrhea diseases, malnutrition and low birth weight. The need for directing health work toward infectious disease and malnutrition is noted.
The appendix details annual data on mortality between 1960 and 1978 (157 - 58 in the West Bank, 127 - 79 in the Gaza Strip).
