The research includes quantative, qualitative, and a documentary components that seeks to investigate the impact of the intensified conflict on the live and mental health of young Palestinians (age 15-17 years).  The study more specifically focuses on the determinants of mental and psychological distress. Stratified single stage cluster sampling was used in selecting the sample.  Exposure to violent events especially among male was reported while girls reported higher levels of subjective health complaints. Strategies to improve young people’s lives should aim for ending occupation.  More immediate interventions should also take into consideration the differing needs of girls and boys.
