66. Palestine Red Crescent Society. Structuring of the Primary Health Care Services in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. PRCS, Research and Planning Division, 1991: 15 pp.
This report applies WHO’s concept of Operational District Health Services in primary health care (PHC) to the Jenin area. It uses as a starting point the criteria developed by the Health Development Information Project for determining PHC services coverage. Ten organizational charts are consequently presented for sub-districts in the Jenin area demonstrating a proposed structure for PHC services. Three categories of health centers are presented each of which will serve as a referral point to a higher infrastructure. The authors conclude that this approach needs to be tested in order to further develop a cohesive primary health care infrastructure.
