This is the third Health Sector Bi-weekly Report, which describes data that is collected every two weeks in an effort to monitor the impact of the emergency on various aspects of the health sector. The main highlights of this report are:
Decrease in the amount of food consumed: 56.3% of households
Reasons for decrease in food: West Bank: lack of money and curfew; Gaza: lack of money only
Cumulative water interruption: 43.3% of households, 25% West Bank, 59% Gaza; in 22.8% of health facilities, reducing water for drinking and housekeeping/sanitation services
Diarrhea illness: 23.4% of households in the seventh round
Borrowing money: 54.1% of households seventh round, 50.9% WB, 61% Gaza
Selling assets: 16.6% of households seventh round, 13.9% WB, 23% Gaza
Access to services: more affected in the West Bank than Gaza; cumulative interruptions in services: 33.1% of clinics had to suspend at least one clinical service for 2 or more days in the two weeks prior to the survey interview
More than 90% of clinics reporting interruptions in clinical services consistently cite lack of trained staff due to curfews/closures as the primary reason for interruptions
