This report addresses the Palestinian health care system, which is a mixture of public, non-governmental, UNRWA, and private (profit and non-profit) service delivery, with a developing governmental health insurance system. Remarkable improvements have been made in the last five years since the PNA assumed responsibility for the health sector. This section of the plan presents an overview of the demographic and health characteristics of the Palestinian people, health services delivery, health care costs and financing, health personnel distribution and education, primary health care functions, and managerial infrastructure, along with some of the ministry’s achievements.
