A field survey of preschool children was conducted in Jabalia village including 411 children. Prevalence rates were 62.3% Ascaris lumbriciodes, 17% Giardia lamblia and 3.7% Ancylostoma. Associations were found between prevalence rates and a number of environmental variables. A strong correlation between parasitism and anaemia is noted.
