This report contains the proceedings of the two day conference that took place in Jerusalem in 1991. The aim of this conference was post-graduate education, heighten awareness, engender interest and improve coordination. The conference was attended by 266 participants. The main conclusions of the conference were the urgent need for medical education of the non-specialists, diagnosis usually does not extend beyond the term epilepsy, epilepsy remains inadequately treated despite the availability of medication, and patient education is minimal, with limited supportive services.
