The report briefly describes the general living conditions of the Palestinian population of the Occupied Territories and their effects on the health conditions of the population. Special attention is drawn to the Gulf conflict and its effects on the health status of the population. A detailed description of the WHO collaborating centers in the West Bank and Gaza is presented
It is concluded that some reorientation of the WHO collaborating centers is needed to improve and strengthen the Palestinian health institutions and to establish a cohesive public health policy in the Occupied Territories. A list of WHO supported projects is also presented.
