12. Palestinian Ministry of Health. Prevalence of tooth trauma among school children aged 10 years old in the Gaza Strip. Gaza: Palestinian National Authority, 1997:12pp.

The objective of this study was to estimate the prevalence of tooth fraction among school children aged 10 years old in the Gaza Strip. The results showed that the prevalence of tooth fracture was 5.5%. The prevalence is 4.5% among girls’ schools, 6.2% among boys’ schools, and 6.1% among combined schools. These results are similar or even higher compared to other international studies (since this study was conducted among relatively younger children). The study suggests that preventive educational programs are required among these children in order to improve dental hygiene and to show how much tough play affects the teeth causing tooth fracture.
