This article presents neonatal statistics at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Augusta Victoria Hospital, Jerusalem, for the period 1991-1993. Statistics include numbers of deliveries and frequency of stillbirth, low birth weight and neonatal mortality. The article discusses problems facing neonatal care at Augusta Victoria Hospital, being the main referral hospital for Palestinian refugees in the West Bank. Mostly, these problems are related to the limited resources and facilities needed for the caring of premature neonates.
