24. Refugees Studies Centre, University of Oxford. Lessons learned report: Children and Adolescents in Palestinian Households: Living with the Effects of Prolonged Conflict and Forced Migration, a Regional Study. 2001:64pp.
In Arabic and English.

This report aims to bridge the gap between theory and application, which is common in much of the research directed at the Palestinian children and adolescents in the Middle East. It aims to integrate an organic research design with a practical agenda to improve delivery, policy and programs and thereby help train practitioners to provide better services. Local practitioners and researchers have been integrated into the research program by first identifying current policies and practices. Contemporary policy and programming was then taken into account in designing a participatory research methodology, which can be implemented, by local and international researchers as well as practitioners from the major IGOs and NGOs in the region (UNICEF, UNRWA, and Save the Children Fund). This participatory research approach, which crosses a number of disciplinary divides, provides a positive learning experience for the researchers, practitioners and sampled population of children, adolescents and caregivers.
