The author provides an analysis of the factors that led to the outbreak of the Intifada as a national form of resistance to occupation, involving all sectors of the Palestinian society. An analysis of the psychosocial changes that took place among t he Palestinian population of the Occupied Territories is presented. Each sector of the Palestinian society is analyzed separately. A brief analysis of some of the changes in social behavior is also provided.
