16. 'Abdeen, Z., Habash, A., and Harami, G. Development of a Systematic Tool for the Collection of Occupational Data on Disabled Persons. Central National Committee for Rehabilitation, 1994: 55 pp.
This is a report on a survey aimed at informing the development of relevant programs and policies of vocational services for disabled persons. The survey sample consisted of 101 disabled individuals from the eight districts of the West Bank, aged 15-60 years. Another aim of this study was to develop a nucleus for a future national data bank for the registration of disabled persons. The results indicate that only 75% of the respondents have been to school and only 39% have been offered formal training. Over three-quarters were not employed at the time of the survey. Two-thirds of those unemployed were not seeking jobs. About two-thirds of the respondents said they would apply for vocational programs, mainly in manual and industrial fields.
