A study was undertaken to examine the rehabilitation services in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. As part of their methodology, the researchers visited existing rehabilitation centers, interviewed health care professionals, and gathered data from existing documentation. The report provides a survey of needs, and of available facilities. It also discusses the medical and social aspects of the rehabilitative process, and determines current availability. The number of disabled in Palestine has increased as a result of the Intifada. It is noted how a positive change in the attitude of the population towards the disabled has developed. In conclusion, the authors provide directions for improvements of rehabilitation services in Palestine.
