This is a case study which has value as an overall evaluation of a practice and which points to a variety of means for improving, developing and generalizing it. The aim of this paper is to investigate Pap smear reports on the West Bank in 1997 and to make recommendations based on all available information, in order to improve women’s health care services, particularly the quality of care. In this paper the Pap smear, as a biomedical intervention, is investigated for its usefulness, adequacy, and effectiveness. By using systematic data collection and analysis, the accuracy of the procedure, as it was carried out in 1997 in various West Bank centers, will be evaluated using systematic data collection and analysis.
